CAMI Wish List (Medical items):

MEDICAL NEEDS LIST

The following items are needed for our medical teams abroad. This is an ongoing and changing list:

  1. Sterile 4 X 4 gauze. We use lots of this during surgery.
  2. IV and PO antibiotics, especially cephalosporins
  3. Emergency drugs for our crash carts, adult and pediatric doses
  4. IV tubing, especially buretrol type
  5. All kinds of suture material
  6. Dressings of all kinds
  7. Tape (medical) of all kinds and sizes
  8. Surgical gloves all sizes including latex free
  9. Surgical instruments, especially for craniofacial patients
  10. Pulse oximeters
  11. Oxygen tubings, canulas and regulators
  12. Skin markers
  13. Microsurgical instruments of all kinds
  14. Blue surgical towels
  15. O.R. scrub clothes all sizes
  16. Sterile paper surgical gowns
  17. OR drapes and sheets, both paper and cloth
  18. Table top sterilizers
  19. Neurological shunts for patients with hydrocephalus, especially medium pressure and for infants
  20. Blankets for patients
  21. 24G angiocaths 20G angiocaths 22 G angiocaths
  22. Clipboards for patient files
  23. Instrumentation for spinal fusions, and spine instruments
  24. Tissue expanders for burn scar patients
  25. Mesh for hernia patients
  26. Pregnancy kits
  27. Bath towels and wash cloths for patients
  28. Personal care items for patients, such as lotion, toothbrush, etc.
  29. Surgical handscrub brushes for OR
  30. Cidex or other cleaning solution for the OR
  31. Phisohex solution
  32. Waterless hand cleaners
  33. Bone wax
These items are just some of what we need. We will add to this list as time goes by. Please see if you can help with any of these items. Many times, hospital staff will help to collect items that they are going to discard. We are able to use many of these items abroad, simply by properly sterilizing them.
